Better Presenting with “The Engagement Triangle”
Most presenters focus on themselves or their content, and they often forget about the audience. The Engagement Triangle is model for how to balance all three of these.
In any presentation, there are three components: the presenter, the content, and the audience. The way these elements interact determines the usefulness, involvement, engagement, and fun of the presentation.
The Engagement Triangle is a way to redesign and redefine how you convey information. We also call it The Blakesley Triangle, named after an early client, Steven Blakesley, who demanded that presenters in his company stop putting their audiences to sleep and start paying attention to them instead.
