We help people have less fear and more joy in the work they do by helping people become better collaborators, communicators and innovators. During this current crisis we are doing this by leading virtual meeting facilitation, team building, seminars, and training.
When people view each other as resources instead of the competition the realm of possibility opens right up! Using improv, science and other tools, our expertise is in making any meeting or other event (virtual or live) more impactful, fun, and engaging by delivering experiences that help content stick. Q: Do you offer virtual training?
We have adapted all of our work to delivery on virtual platforms (Zoom, WebX, Teams, Google Meetings). We have been excited to discover the possibilities of connecting people, giving them experiences of joy and learning in a remote setting.
Specifically we offer the following in the virtual work environment:
HIVEs. Highly Interactive Virtual Education. We teach CUSTOMIZED content in (usually) 90-minute courses on influence, communication, Distributed Work, presentation skills, ideation, and collaboration
Distributed Work Toolkit Volumes 1-6, Train-the-Trainer Sessions- We teach your internal HR or leadership team of up to 12 people how to use distributed work tools for help your people work better together when then are working apart.
MindMelds- uncovering duplicate efforts, forging new alliances, and teaching newly formed teams how to work together effectively and respectfully (more details below).
Design and Host Your Meeting/Virtual Conference. - A dive deep where you can give us the reigns. We will run the show so you don’t have to.
Co-facilitate Your Meeting/Virtual Conference- You design the meeting, we make it more engaging.”
Joy Sessions- A dose of creativity, connection, and energy for your people.
Virtual Orientations- We help kickoff your new hire orientation, school, or team orientation with an interactive immersion so connections and collaboration can continue long after.
Q: You mentioned improv….why Improv?
Improv actors are real-time, market-driven innovators: A creative team works together to create something (a story) to satisfy a customer (the audience) under extreme time pressure (instantly, on the spot). Improvisers work with a set of established practices to help them step out into uncertainty, work in a state of constant flux and change, and create something successful and engaging together. The great thing about these practices is that absolutely anyone can learn and apply them to their work…and life. We believe that when you behave like an improviser at work, your work gets better.
Q: Lots of people do improv...What makes OYF different?
At On Your Feet we are early pioneers in the field of Applied Improvisation, concentrating on experiential learning as a way to make training practical, impactful and (gasp!) fun for our clients. Our mix of Business tools, Science and the Art of Improvisation make us particularly unique. Combining these three dynamic fields allow us to create and deliver keynotes, meeting facilitation and workshops that are grounded in behavioral science, deeply engaging, and immediately useful.
Q: How do you specifically help teams?
We create customizable silo-busting experiences (both virtual and live) we call MindMelds. Of all our work, this may have the highest ROI, uncovering duplicate efforts, forging new alliances, and teaching newly formed organizations and teams how to work together effectively and respectfully. We have led MindMelds with organizations such as Uber, Disney, Nike and others.
The MindMeld Program brings together groups and teams that must work together differently, and uses interactive experience to:

Q: What is it like to work with you?
We are a small hands-on consultancy that strives to create a trusted advisory relationship with every leader we work with. We will ask you lots of questions in order to understand your needs and issues. And we won’t stop there. In our findings phase, we pre-interview participants and key stakeholders to make sure we are hearing about the current state of things, as well as your desired outcomes, from multiple sources. From there, we customize our design by drawing from over twenty years of training, conference, and facilitated-meeting experience. When we work with and your team live, you can expect an interactive, experiential workshop, keynote or initiative. People will be up and moving--learning, laughing and designing lasting behavioral change, collaborative cultures, while getting comfortable with the unexpected.
Q: Do you only work with “creative” companies
Our work is industry agnostic. We work in boardrooms, factory floors, production studios, engineering labs...anywhere where people have to work together, service a customer, communicate information, and lead with effectiveness.
