Names are Important!

Early days
When we first started this company in 1997, we had T-shirts made with the title of the business: Get On Your Feet. After a few months, we realized that On Your Feet was a much better name for the organization.
It’s a good thing we did, because that phrase has been hugely memorable and also has the added benefit of being everywhere out there in the world.
Plus, Gloria Estefan is much more famous than us
New Mexico
On a recent trip to New Mexico with my father, I had a couple of occasions of seeing those words in different circumstances. The volleyball game above, and at this shoe store. Of course On Your Feet is a good name for shoes. In fact, at our office in Portland, we regularly get catalogs for shoes.
And that’s not the only place, I can’t help but think that during the NBA playoffs when people hear the public announcer yell “Everybody on your feet”, we don’t get at least a little bit of subliminal publicity.
Here is a (very) distant sign at last season's NBA finals in San Francisco.
